Nail Restoration with the KeryFlex System
If you have a damaged or fungal toenail, you know what it feels like to try and hide that thick, crumbling toenail, day in and day out. There is now a way to restore your damaged toenail to a natural, healthy looking nail! Flip-flops and open toe shoes are now possible again!
Southern Tier PEDSpa introduces the KeryFlex Nail Restoration System. KeryFlex is a cosmetic aid that works with anti-fungal medicines to treat fungal nails. It is a safe, non-systemic in-office application that restores the appearance of your natural nails. This product allows the podiatrist to remodel patient’s toenails that are affected by nail disorders such as onychomycosis (nail fungus), diabetes, infections, ingrown nails, psoriasis, onychogryphosis, beau’s lines, koilonychia and chronic polyarthritis.
Other Nail Disorders Include:
- Nail shape changes due to injury
- Spoon shaped nails
- Brittle and splitting nails
- Split nails
- Horizontal ridges
- Discolored nails
How Does the KeryFlex Nail Restoration System Work?
The patented resin creates a flexible, non-porous nail that allows the remaining natural nails to grow. The KeryFlex nail provides a natural looking nail during oral anti-fungal therapies. It also provides an immediate cosmetic improvement to compliment laser fungal treatments. The KeryFlex nail is durable and unaffected by acetone, nail polishes or detergents.
How is KeryFlex Different than Getting Acrylic Nails from a Salon?
In a salon, the acrylic nail is glued onto the nail fragment and skin of the nail bed. KeryFlex is only attached to nail plate, and allows the natural nail to grow. A licensed physician supervises the KeryFlex procedure to ensure the proper skill level when ‘building’ a nail off the nail bed. A salon applied nail is more likely to pop off while KeryFlex nails can be trusted throughout exercise and daily activities. While this is not a treatment for nail fungus, it allows continuation of topical anti-fungal therapies, and will not damage any new nail growth in the process. The KeryFlex nail typically will last for 6 to 8 weeks.
